Sagrada Familia and Picasso....

I am so overwhelmed with what we saw (and learned) today that I´m going to let a website do the talking for me. If you go to: http://www.greatbuildings.com/buildings/Sagrada_Familia.html, you can see a world famous building by famed architect, Antoni Gaudi, that is within walking distance of where we are staying in Barcelona. I wasn´t familiar with his work but am plan on becoming much more familiar after this. This site is truly extraordinary - fantastical, whimsical, massive... I had goose bumps looking at it from the street. We took almost three hours to tour the inside. Got a little vertigo climbing the bell-towers but it was well worth the hike....check out the pictures if you are interested at the aforementioned webpage. If that wasn´t enough culture for the day, we decided to tour the Picasso Museum in the downtown. I always took his name for granted as just another famous talented artist....now I want more. We took almost two hours there, which wasn´t enough but the back and feet said it was. Mucho relaxo tonight....

Tomorrow, we will hit the contemporary art museum, which may sound boring, but I am inspired to learn more about Barcelona´s amazing history of art (and artists) after today.

It´s been a great couple of days....

Shiloh :)
